Sandals or flip-flops are not recommended. The history tour takes in the 70 acre Gold Hill Mines Historic Park, the Gold Hill Rail Trail and the village of Gold Hill.

Prior arrangements must be made for the panning and history presentation. Fees apply for guided tours and panning.
A self-guided tour booklet is available at the Montgomery Store for those who are adventurous enough to hike on you own allowing you to proceed at your own pace. “Your Guide to Gold Hill Mines Historic Park and the Gold Hill Rail Trail” contains information for the park’s historic sites and landmarks, the Gold Hill Rail Trail, a history timeline, maps and a brief history of each of the shops in the village.
